The RM of Saltcoats No. 213 was incorporated as a Rural Municipality on December 9, 1912. The RM of Saltcoats is located in east-central Saskatchewan, with the corporate office being located in the Town of Saltcoats.
The Town of Bredenbury and Saltcoats are located in the RM of Saltcoats along the Highway 16, the Yellowhead TransCanada Highway, which crosses the RM diagonally, with Highway 15 being the other major highway the passes through the RM. Also located in the RM of Saltcoats is the Saltcoats Regional Park.
The population of the RM of Saltcoats is 746. There are about 225 farms which occupy approximately 81,400 hectares of prime farm land.
The RM incorporates many thriving industries, including Castleton Industries, Penn Truss Manufacturing, Railside Homes and a large agriculture sector.
